The Educational object of the game is for the user or golfer to become familiar with and to visualize geometric transformations: translation(slide), rotation(turn), reflection(flip) and similitude(stretcher/shrinker).
The FSTS clubs – transformations are:
F flip or reflection of the ball.
S slide or translation of the ball.
T turn or rotation of the ball.
S stretcher-shrinker or similitude to alter ball size.
The Flip club flips or reflects the ball through a line. A mirror or reflection line is positioned by the golfer. This club moves the ball along the fairway, over water hazards but not over trees.
The Slide club slides or translates the ball through fairways. The golfer selects a beginning point and an end point. These points determine a movement vector for the ball. This club cannot move the ball over water or through trees.
The Turn club turns or rotates the ball about a point. The golfer moves the point that determines the radius of the turn. Next the angle size of the turn is selected. This club moves the ball on the fairway, but not over water or through trees.
This Size club stretches or shrinks the size of the ball. The golfer selects a center point and the amount of size change or scale factor on a scale line at the bottom of the screen. The size change is made with respect to the chosen point. The change can be positive or negative. The ball cannot change size over water or through trees.
